In Celebration of

William Doucette

December 15, 1933 -  July 9, 2018

It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of our dear father Raymond at the age of 85, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Our Dad was born William Raymond Doucette in Charlottetown PEI in 1933. Son of the late Gerald and Cecilia Doucette Beloved partner of Monique Carriere and loving father to his sons Gerry (Jane), Mike, and James (Nancy). Dear husband of the late Carol Doucette. Lovingly remembered by brothers Lester (Eileen), David (Carla), and sisters Betty (Ansel) and Theresa (the late Tom). Loving grandfather to Ryan, Joseph, and Meghan. Pre-deceased by brothers Delbert (Doris), Allan, Donald and sister Mary (Harold).

His career spanned 33 years as a successful officer in the RCAF and then a rewarding second career in business with Coldwell Banker real estate. Later in life, our Dad persevered with his characteristic courage and grace despite many difficult medical challenges that faced him. He was a caring, kind, and generous man who always took the time to make those around him feel loved, appreciated and valued.

The family wishes to thank the entire team at Maplewood Retirement Community who always treated our father with the utmost respect, compassion and kindness.

Family and Friends are invited to visit Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave.) on Tuesday July 17th, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service in Beechwood’s Sacred Space at 2:00 p.m., interment to follow in Beechwood Cemetery. Messages of Condolence may be left at www.beechwoodottawa.ca

I am very sorry for your loss Gerry and Family. I have such fond memories of Ray and Carol during our high school years, and the time that followed. Ray was an absolutely wonderful man.

I’m very sorry to hear of the passing of Blackie Doucette; he was always very kind to me (and my brothers). I recently became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and thought of him. My thoughts are with the family.
