Frank passed away at the Royal Victoria Regional Hospital in Barrie ON, on August 18, 2015 at the age of 49, after a brief and bravely fought battle with Cancer. Beloved husband of Capt Sandi Evans (née Scharf) and proud and loving father of Connor. Cherished son of Jean (née Hastie), Windsor ON, and the late Frank Evans. Will be especially missed by his siblings; Charles (Chuck) Evans (Tammy), Sarnia ON, Steven Evans (Tina), Kingston ON, and Michelle Evans, Windsor ON. Will be dearly remembered by his in-laws; Kenneth & Lynn Scharf (née Richardson), Wellington ON, and his sister in-law; Stephanie Daniels (Eddie), Wesley Chapel Fl. He also leaves behind nieces Rylea, Taylor, Evelyn and Aubrey, and nephews Nolan, Aiden, and Reid, and a host of other relatives, comrades and friends.

Frank was Born in Glasgow, Scotland on 22 November 1965, and immigrated to Canada with his family as a young boy. They initially settled in Scarborough ON before moving to Sarnia ON, where he spent the bulk of his youth. After joining the Military, and while posted to CFB Petawawa, he met the love of his life, Sandi, whom he married on October 29, 1994. Frank’s biggest life accomplishment however, came on September 11, 1999, when his son, Connor Kenneth Evans, was born. Frank’s passion was his family, and he was absolutely devoted to his wife and son. He was a father who always involved himself in every detail of his son’s life and supported, respected and loved his wife unconditionally.

Frank served proudly with the 2nd Royal Canadian Horse Artillery for 10 years, with 6 of those years as part of E Battery (Para) in support of the Airborne Regiment, and was currently serving with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals as a Communication Information System Technology Manager for the last 16 years. He has enjoyed a very diverse career since joining the Canadian Armed Forces in April 1989, and has deployed overseas to Cyprus (1992), as part of the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) to Honduras (1998), and most recently with the 1 Royal Canadian Regiment Battlegroup to Afghanistan (2006). He has also deployed on many domestic aid operations such as the OKA crisis (1990), Winnipeg floods (1997), and the Ice Storm (1998).

Friends are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway), Ottawa on Thursday September 3, 2015 after 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred space at 1 p.m., followed by internment with Military Honours at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces. A reception in Honour of Frank will then be held in the Borden & Fleming Suites at Beechwood. Donations can be made to Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer at https://www.debbiesdream.org.

One of Frank’s greatest joys in his life was his son Connor.
