After a brief illness Roger passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Montfort Hospital in Ottawa on June 4, 2016 at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Jacqueline, whom he adored. They were married for 52 years and were rarely apart.

Loving father of Marie-France and Claudine (Yvon Audette). He was so proud of both of his children and he loved sharing their successes with his family and friends.

Survived by his brothers Marcel, Yvan and Patrice and sister Suzanne. Roger loved his family and friends deeply and he enjoyed so many wonderful times with them stretching from Coaticook all the way to Florida.

Roger was a doting and loving grandfather to Anne and Max. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved hearing their stories, spending special time with each one of them and they loved spending time with him, too. He offered guidance and advice, strength and laughter and most of all love, to each one of them on every occasion they were together.

Roger was many things. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed a distinguished career in the Canadian Armed Forces (see biography). He was a kind and generous friend. He was incredibly loyal and honest. He was joyful and charismatic. He was a hero and mentor to many. He was an amazing host and he was, by far, a man of strong character.

He traveled the world, leaving a positive impact everywhere he went.

Roger was happiest when surrounded by people he loved, whether marking an event or just ringing in happy hour in Florida. With this in mind, his family and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering located at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa from 1-4pm Monday June 13th.

Suite à une brève maladie, Roger est décédé paisiblement, entouré de sa famille, à l'Hôpital Montfort d’Ottawa, le samedi 4 Juin 2016, à l'âge de 73 ans. Il est survécu par Jacqueline, son épouse et meilleure amie qu'il adorait. Ils ont été mariés pendant 52 ans et étaient rarement séparés.

Roger est le père aimant de Marie-France et Claudine (Yvon Audette). Il était tellement fier de ses deux filles et il aimait partager leurs succès avec sa famille et ses amis.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères Marcel, Yvan et Patrice et sa soeur Suzanne. Roger aimait sa famille et ses amis profondément et partageait de merveilleux moments avec eux, de Coaticook jusqu’en Floride.

Roger était un grand-père tendre et aimant pour Anne et Max. Ses petits-enfants étaient sa fierté et sa joie. Il aimait entendre leurs histoires, vivre des moments privilégiés avec chacun d'entre eux. Ils ont eux aussi adoré passer du temps avec lui. Il les a guidés; il leur a offert des conseils, la force et le rire et surtout l'amour, à chacun d'entre eux, à chaque occasion où ils se retrouvaient ensemble.

On reconnaît Roger à ses multiples qualités et talents. Il s’est montré dévoué comme mari, comme père et grand-père. Il a connu une brillante carrière dans les Forces armées canadiennes (voir section biographie). Il était un ami gentil et généreux. D’une grande intégrité, il était incroyablement loyal et honnête. Il était joyeux et charismatique. Il était un héros et fut un mentor pour plusieurs. Il était un homme fort de caractère et un hôte remarquable.

Il a parcouru le monde, laissant un impact positif partout où il passait.

Roger était à son plus heureux quand il était entouré des gens qu'il aimait, que ce soit pour signaler un événement particulier ou tout simplement pour célébrer le ‘happy hour’ en Floride. Dans cet esprit, sa famille et les amis sont invités à un rassemblement commémoratif dans la Salle des drapeaux, au Cimetière Beechwood, situé au 280, avenue Beechwood à Ottawa, le lundi 13 juin, de 13h00 à 16h00.
