Peacefully in Ottawa on Saturday December 31, 2016, Robert (Bobby) Van Tassel at the age of 87. Son of the late Annie Margaret Martin and the late Charles Stanley Van Tassel. Beloved husband of Gisèle Turgeon. Loving father of Natalie Van Tassel. Fond grandfather of Matthew Robert Waldron,
Charles Olivier Van Tassel, Brin (Christina Farah). Bobby is Native of Forchu, Cape Breton, settling in Bourlamaque, Quebec as a teenager, and moving to Ottawa Ontario into retirement.
Described as a kind and gentle man by all who knew him, he will be greatly missed ...
Funeral arrangements in care of the Beechwood National Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of the Vanier Parkway) where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Bobby requested that a donation be made either to The Ottawa MS Society or to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation for MS research.
