After a long battle with illness, Rinaldo {Reno} Robert Cyr, 77, passed away in comfort of his own home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
Reno is survived by his wife Josephine {Jo} of 52 years, daughter Jacqueline {Duane}, son Michael (Pamela), granddaughters Megan, Chloe, Casey and grandson Noah and extended family.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Reno then left the Maritimes to begin his military career. Many postings, good friends and incredible memories later, Reno retired from the Canadian Armed Forces. He then spent many years working for the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. Reno loved his family, travelling the world, classical music and spending time with good friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Beechwood Funeral at Cemetery Services on Friday, October 26, 2018. Funeral service will also be at Beechwood at 2:00 PM. Reno will be laid to rest at Beechwood immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society, 245 West Hunt Club Road or at ottawahumane.ca.
