On Wednesday, June 6th, 2018, at the at the age of 82 years, surrounded by loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Raymonde was born in Montreal, PQ,on 27 November 1935, daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanne (nee Laurier) Guimond of Montreal, and sister to Richard Guimond and the late Normand Guimond. Professionally a secretary and real estate agent, Raymonde was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and talented artist and seamstress. Her open kindness and genuine caring for all people, and her devotion and love for animals and children in particular are a tribute to the beauty of her heart and soul, and the hallmarks of how she will be remembered by family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to share with her in some aspect of life.

Known as Raye to friends and family, she had a beauty and smile that lit a room. She will be forever missed by her loving husband and best friend Walter, and their children and their spouses, Linda & Howard, Michael & Jean, and Marc & Christine. Raye is further survived by 11 grand-children and 2 great-grand-children, all of whom are grateful for their time with her and who will miss her dearly. Raye will also be remembered with fondness and love by her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway), Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the memorial service in the Sacred Space at 1 1a.m. In memory of Raye, donations to the Bruyere foundation, 43 Bruyère Street, Ottawa, ON K1N 5C8, would be appreciated. General and Mrs Jean Dabros, my sincere condolensces to both of you and to your entire family, both immediate and extended. Like my own mother, whom I lost on Valentine's Day 2017, she seems to have been a beautiful person inside and out, and like Maman, I am sure she will be very fondly remembered, and missed, for exactly that.
