Godspeed sir, A legend in the Signals Community. Thanks to you and your family for all you've done for our Corps.
My deepest condolence to the family on Michael Webber's passing which I only just discovered by an amazing coincidence. This evening when I opened my RIFF statement, Michael Webber came to mind. In 1981, when I was working at the LRCC, he strongly counseled me to buy RRSP's. Even if I had to borrow, I would still benefit from the tax deduction. So I did every year and now thankfully I have a bit of nest egg. While reading the RIF statement I had the very strong feeling to call Michael and thank him. Then a feeling came over me that he had passed away. I went to the computer, and there to my utmost surprise, I learned he had passed away yesterday. I do not know what Michael would have made out of this story. I do know, however, that the depth of his character had touched me very deeply when I worked with him and has remained, like the physicists would say as a quantum entanglement, despite the fact that I have not seen him in over 35 years, although we always kept in touch at Xmas. A great soul has passed into the mystery but will remain in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him.
It is with deep regret that I heard of the passing of BGen Webber. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time. May his service and sacrifice never be forgotten.
My deepest condolences to the Webber family. With the loss of BGen(Retired) Webber, this truly marks the end of a wonderful and amazing journey for a man highly respected by the RCCS Corps. While not knowing him personally, I remember reading about then a young Lieutenant Webber who was part of the first landing from a HMS destroyer as part of OP Guanlet. I felt proud and honoured knowing so many great Signallers contributed so valiantly to our country and the War, and now I was part of that tradition. My prayers to his family and may he never be forgotten in the hearts of those who knew and loved him best.
His life was a light to this world.
