Lorraine Liddiard

March 3, 1937 -  April 19, 2017

Peacefully at the Embassy West Hospice, surrounded by her loving family on April 19th, 2017 at age 80. Beloved wife of the late George Liddiard. Cherished by her sisters: Patricia (Ken deceased) Scrivens and Anne (Bill) Lantz, and brother Conrad deceased (Madeleine) Lafleur. Predeceased by her brother in law Jim Liddiard and by her dearest and lifelong friend, Adina Costantini.
Devoted aunt of: Susan Skrypnyk (Stephen), Sandra Skrypnyk, Steven Skrypnyk (Tina), Michel Lafleur (Heather), Daniel Lafleur (Kim), Cathy Lafleur (Ian), Deborah Lantz-Kennedy (Mike), Karen Lantz (Shane), Donna Heyligan, and Jeff Costantini (Judy).
Beloved ‘Aunty Lorraine’ to 20 great nieces and nephews and 2 great – great nephews.
She will also be remembered and greatly missed by many dear friends, especially Nicolas Nasrallah (Danny), Leona O’Brien (Greg) and Rolf and Claire Haenni of Zurich, Switzerland.
Lorraine had a successful career working for the Federal Government and after retirement, as a travel cruise consultant for Phonecia Travel. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to her family and many friends. She and George attended countless football and hockey games, drama performances and dance recitals for their nieces, nephews and friends. Lorraine’s joy was infectious and she will always be remembered for her unwavering optimism, smile and sense of style.
The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Vincent and the incredible staff and volunteers at the Central West Hospice, whose compassionate and attentive care was sincerely appreciated.
A Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 25th at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) from 10am to 12noon. The Funeral Service will follow at the Annunciation of Our Lord (2414 Ogilvie Rd, Gloucester) at 1pm. Please consider a donation to the Ottawa Hospice Care in Lorraine’s memory.
