Died peacefully, at home on December 11, 2018 at the age of 90. Lorne was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1928. He received his BSc from the University of Saskatchewan, his MSc in physics from McGill and later he received his PhD in Glaciology from the same University. Lorne enjoyed a 35-year career at the National Research Council in the Division of Building Research retiring in 1986 as the Associate Director of the Division. He is survived by his loving wife Joan (nee L’Ami), his brother Alan (Bonnie), his daughters Catherine (Micheal), Patricia (Barrie), Judith (Frank) and son Kenneth (Deanna). Lorne’s ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren will also miss him. He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret, Eileen, Lou, and his brothers Stuart and Alexander. Visitation is at Rideau Park United Church on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm.
