In Celebration of

Kurt Trebels

May 5, 1963 -  October 31, 2018

TREBELS, Kurt Alan
Warrant Officer – Intelligence Branch
May 3, 1963 – October 31, 2018
With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Kurt Trebels. He passed away at home on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 55.
He will be sorely missed by his loving children Lauren and Dylan, mother Karin, grandfather Kurt, spouse Kathleen, four-legged shadow Gunner, his entire extended family and all the brothers and sisters he gained over the course of his military career.
Kurt was a fiercely loyal and selfless soldier, father, son, brother-in-law, and friend. He was a kind gentle soul who marched to the beat of his own drum. Kurt proudly served his country and relished the opportunity to train the next generation of soldiers. His tongue in cheek sense of humour and contagious laugh will be fondly remembered by all who had the honour of knowing him.

The family welcomes all to join us for Visitation at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, November 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. or 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Beechwood’s Sacred Space on Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Those who cannot attend are invited to toast his memory with a glass of Guinness. Internment will take place at a later date at Beechwood National Military Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada or The Ottawa Humane Society.

We were all very saddened to hear the news about Kurt’s sudden passing. Tom, Courtenay and I remember Kurt as an enthusiastic and proud father on the side lines of the soccer field, cheering on his talented daughter Lauren. Our deepest condolences to Kathleen, Lauren and Dylan.
