In Celebration of

Kathleen Greenlaw (née Black)

December 14, 1946 -  February 5, 2018

GREENLAW, Kathleen Sterling (nee Black) (1946-2018)
Recently joined her loving husband Kenneth W. Greenlaw (1943 - 2008) as she peacefully passed away in her sleep, surrounded by family, on February 5th, 2018. Kathy was born in Toronto, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Black.
Kathy leaves behind her much-beloved children: Andrew, Christie (Dolan) and Lauren as well as their spouses: Aleksandra Greenlaw (nee Pisarek), Joseph Martin Dolan and Michael Takaichi. She also leaves behind her sister Susan Watson and sister-in-law Patricia Wickman (Greenlaw) and her niece and nephews.
In her final years, Kathy found her greatest joy in loving her young grandchildren: Elizabeth and Henry Dolan, Margaret Takaichi (and her future sibling) and Amelia Greenlaw.
Kathy bravely fought Breast Cancer for nineteen years before finally succumbing to the disease. The family extend extra special thanks to the Cancer Centre at the Ottawa General Hospital for their tremendous support to Kathy.
Kathy set a shining example for friends and family in how she lived her life, loved her family, and fought her disease. Friends are invited to celebrate Kathy's life in the main Chapel at Beechwood Cemetery on Monday the 12th of February. Guests are invited to gather after 10:00 am in the main Chapel, the service will begin at 11:00 am. A reception will follow (also at Beechwood), with light refreshments served from noon to 2:00.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ottawa General hospital.
Gone golfing!

Sorry to hear of Kathy passing ....she was a terrific person and a strong individual.
We were lucky to be friends with her and Ken through the Newcomers club in Blackburn Hamlet in the 1980's.
Our thoughts are with the family during this sad time.
