In Celebration of

Ian Urquhart

October 29, 1953 -  March 31, 2016

Ian (Moose) Douglas Urquhart
October 29, 1953 – March 31, 2016

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.” Peacefully surrounded by family and friends Ian passed away at The Ottawa Hospital after a brief illness with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Shauna. Loving son of Doris and the late John Urquhart. Dear brother of Carol (Mike) and Drew (deceased). Beloved son-in-law of Eleanor Taylor, brother-in-law to Lisa, Sharon (Jorg), Kathleen (Paul), George, Gregory (deceased), Robert, Patrick (Stephanie), as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by life long friends John Elford, John Lochhead, Don Bott (deceased) and Chris Coates. Ian’s kindness, caring, positive outlook and infectious laughter leave us with warm memories. Private family interment will be held at Beechwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Ian’s Life will be held for family and friends in the summer (to be announced). As an expression of sympathy a random act of kindness passed on to others would be appreciated.

We were very saddened to hear of Ian's passing. He will be truly missed. Ian always had a ready smile for everyone and was a pleasure to be around. Our hearts go out to Shauna and to Ian's mother and family as they mourn his passing.

I didn't know Moose/Ian very well but in the short time we talked he seemed like a real down to earth decent guy. His close friends have lost allot.
Let's hope he runs into Don/Burrhead to show him around Heaven.
Peace

We are all sad to hear of Ian's passing and the out pouring by many friends partners, former employees and team mates is a tribute to Ian's strength of character, sense of humor and attention to detail. He always commented on how lucky he was to have such a wonderful wife who loved and cared for him and was his best friend;he was grateful for their marriage, love and power juices!
He valued his 40+ yr friends and and partners in crime and laughed at their antics.
He loved his mom and sister and how strong and caring they were.
Ian took great joy in spending time with is family in Germany and with his nephews at Star Wars!

Great man who valued his family and friends and will be sorely missed.

What a wonderful man - now sadly missed.

Ian, I will always remember you telling me to have a good laugh every single day whenever we had our "Skype chat sessions". You were an intelligent encourager. Thank you!

In my memories forever. ~Brian "the Brit".
