In Celebration of

George Manolakos

Manolakos, George (1931 -2019)

George passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in the early morning on February 13th, 2019. He is now reunited with his loving wife, Paraskevi (Perry), his parents Theodoros and Melia and with his brother, Demosthenes (Mike). George leaves behind a rich legacy of beloved family and friends, including his children Theodore (Taki) and Emily (Melitsa), son-in-law (whom he regarded as his son and his Kamari) - Sam (Themmy) Boutziouvis, his brother and sister in Greece — Dimitraki and Antonitsa, and his sisters-in-law, Erika and Ghogho.
George cherished all his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, upstate New York and Greece, and held them all dear to his heart. He loved God and was at peace knowing that Jesus had saved him and lived in his heart. George was a very gentle and kind-hearted man with great integrity and humility. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Campus for their compassion and care during this difficult time. They were most gracious with our dad and our family and we appreciate them.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 15th, 2019 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive) from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greek Orthodox Church (Hellenic Community of Ottawa) or the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
