In Celebration of

Emmanuel Mouroukas

February 1, 1928 -  March 2, 2019

With very heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear Dad, Mr. Emmanuel Mouroukas. Emmanuel was a devoted husband to the late Maria Mouroukas, loving Father of Christos (Chrysoula), Alexandra (Tasso Vasilas), John (Magdalene), and cherished Grandfather of Christos, Emmanuel, Terry, Maria and Manoli. He is now joined together with his parents, Christos and Alexandra and his beloved sisters, Eleni, Martha, and Eftehia . Emmanuel will always be fondly remembered by his dear sister and brother, Vassiliki and Theodore (Eleni) and by his many nieces and nephews. Emmanuel was born in Tripoli, Arcadia on February 1st, 1928 and came to Canada in 1956. He married Maria Aggelopoulos in 1958 and together, they enjoyed many happy years raising their beautiful family. Emmanuel held dear the Hellenic Community here in Ottawa and was a faithful parishioner at Koimissis Tis Theotokou (Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church) for many, many years. His family and friends will always remember Emmanuel as a man of strong faith and a gentle demeanor. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind many warm memories and special times shared together. We wish to thank all the staff at the Hunt Club Manor for their excellent care of our Dad. He truly enjoyed his time there among such wonderful people. Also, a special note of thanks to the caring doctors and nursing staff of the 5th floor, Ottawa General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society of Ottawa in support of their ongoing outreach.

Family and friends may pay respects on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 at Koimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Trisagion Prayer at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 at 11 am, Koimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery. May his memory be eternal.
