In Celebration of

Dianne Phillips

July 26, 1940 -  October 11, 2018

Dianne passed away at home with her husband by her side after a lengthy struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia Dianne is predeceased by her son Stephen, survived by her husband of 60 years, LCol Duncan Phillips (Retd), sons; Kevin (Shirley) of Selkirk Manitoba; Bruce (laurel) of Greeley Ontario & Timothy (Olga) of Hollywood Florida and daughter Vallerie Griese (Ron) of Pembroke Ontario, along with eight grand children and six great grand children.

It was in Truro that she met her future husband and embarked on a long journey as a proud Army wife accompanying her husband to Europe and across Canada during his 32 year career. Dianne pursued a career in the nursing profession employed at Island Lodge in Ottawa, Ontario until her retirement. Dianne was invested into The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem as a Serving Sister in recognition for her contribution to the work of the Order Throughout her life she remained a true daughter of Nova Scotia and known for her compassion, generosity, sense of humour and forthrightness.

Our family would like to thank all the health care professionals and others who helped her through this ordeal as well as the many friends who expressed their condolences. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 - 4 PM on Friday, October 26th at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario.
