Alex was such a generous, charming and accomplished man. It was such a pleasure to know him and spend time with him in his office and home - a perk of having a wonderful friendship with his daughter Erica. My sincerest condolences to Nancy, Caroline, Erica and the rest of the Heaton-Townson family.

Dear Erica and family,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a parent is extremely difficult.....Try to take care of yourselves. Erica, your dad has a very impressive list of accomplishments: I would love to learn more about him.

My thoughts are with you.

Our sincere condolences to Erica and her family and also to the Heaton family members on the loss of your father, Alex. From what I read and heard from Erica, Alex was a wonderful father and husband. May God bless his soul and welcome him into His Kingdom.

On my thousands of trips to Ottawa, I have often passed buildings your father was responsible for. Amazing!
Next trip, I will stop and admiring them even more, knowing I have a bit of a connection to their creator.
