After a long life lived, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfrid Donald Perkins. In his 96th year, "Donnie" died peacefully at the Maplewood Retirement Community. Pre-deceased by his wife Jean (nee Dugal) and his daughters Gale, Carol, and Diane. Left behind to mourn are his long-time partner Pacita Acosta, his son Doug (Nancy), and many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Throughout his long life, there wasn't a tool Don didn't have nor anything broken that he couldn't fix. A special thanks to all the staff at Maplewood for their wonderful gentle care. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, a celebration of that long life will be held at Beechwood Memorial Gardens on Monday, July 3 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
