In Celebration of

Shirley Weese (née Killick)

WEESE, Shirley
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Shirley Weese (née Killick) on Monday February 29, 2016 at the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus with her family by her side at the age of 87. Over the past few years, she battled several physical ailments with dignity and courage. She is predeceased by her loving husband “Wes”. Left to mourn are her daughter Lee (Joe) of Ottawa and her son Bruce (Karen) of Calgary. “Mrs. Shirley” was a loving friend to Jackie and Pat Whalen and their children, Lauren, Kevin and Emily. Our mother was not defined by any fancy titles, but her role as a devoted mother. Her love for her family was profound and unconditional. We have learned the deepest meaning of compassion, selflessness and mother’s love. Special thanks to the staff of the Glebe Centre and the medical staff of 7 North West of the Ottawa Hospital-General Campus. A Funeral Mass in the presence of her ashes will be celebrated on Friday March 4, 2016 at Resurrection of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 1940 Saunderson Drive, Ottawa at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glebe Centre and the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

My love and heart felt sympathy to my Aunt Shirley's family. The obituary is lovely and speaks of the wonderful mother and wife she was. She passed those traits on to her daughter Lee who has been a steady and loving caregiver to Shirley. With love, Del Blondin

My Auntie Shirl!!!! I can't believe that you are gone. I know you struggled with your health in the last few years so I don't really understand why I am so surprised. Today while I was walking I heard a man's laugh. It sounded just like Uncle Wes. So I took that as a sign that now you are in very good hands.
Lee,Joe and Bruce, my heart is with you .
