It is with deep sadness that we announce that Simone passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Ottawa on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of the late John S. Collister for 47 wonderful years. Loving mother of Brian (Catherine), Patricia (Anthony) and Chantal (Alain). Cherished grandmother of Maxwell, Liam, Ethan, Alexander, Lauren, Mackenzie, Holly, Garrett, Julie and Andrew. Survived by brother Gilles (Ann-Marie) and sister Gloreen (Richard). Daughter of the late Abel and late Celeste Arseneault (Benoit). Predeceased by her infant grandson Alexander and her siblings Wilfred (Kay), Omer (Marcella), Ronaldo (Rejeanne), Claude (Lucille), Elzéar and Eva (Bob). Simone was cherished and will remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends for her fun, caring, gentleness, and passsion for life.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Shawn Aaron and Dr. Susan Humphrey-Murto of the Ottawa Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care over the past years, as well as a sincere thanks to the Dialysis team of the Riverside Campus. A special thanks to Civic Hospital 's Neurology team, ICU team, and the special nurses that cared for mom in her final days.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa). A celebration of Simone's life will take place on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Beechwood’s Sacred Space at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.
