In Celebration of
Simone Adrienne Blanchard (née Lapointe)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother (Mère Simone) on December 27th, 2018 in her 96th year. Her kindness, unconditional love, strength, grace and unselfish contribution to all of our lives will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind three children Carrol (late Neil Wells), James (Hélène) and Patricia (Timothy Thomas). Cherished grandmother of Christine, Raymond, Ronny, Nadia, Stephanie and Bradley, proud great-grandmother of Ashley, Travis, Riley, Merik, Lilly and great-great-grandmother of Presley. Dear Sister of Armandine. Born in Sainte-Justine, Quebec to the late Théophile Lapointe and the late Rose-Anna Bizier, Simone is predeceased by her brother Napoléon and her sister Marie-Ange.
Hard working waitress for 25 years at Woolworths, Eastview Shopping Centre (1963-1988), she never took a sick day that we can recall. Her joys in life were her family, her home, hard work, pets, nature and the warmth of the sun in the early spring. Mashed potatoes and the Montreal Canadiens were pretty high on her list too.
A private service has been held for the family. A celebration of life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society www.ottawahumane.ca.
