S/Sgt Guy Binet Ottawa Police (Ret'd)

February 22, 1950 -  June 19, 2017

A strong, kind, loving and courageous man passed away in Ottawa, on Monday, June 19th, 2017. Beloved husband of Suzanne Binet (Chartrand). Loving father of Geneviève (Dawolu Saul), Hélène “Nalini” and Mireille (Mark Miller). Cherished grandfather “Staff” of Tristan, Amélie, Zara and baby “bouton”. Survived by siblings Charles Binet (Micheline), Denise (Bernard Paré), Jean Binet (Stephanie) and François Binet. Predeceased by his parents Charles-Auguste and Fernande Binet (Campeau) and by siblings Paul “Pepsi” Binet and Rolande Binet. Guy will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, close friends and colleagues.

The family will be receiving friends at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at St-Joseph Catholic Church (2757 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans), at 11 a.m. Interment to immediately follow in The Ottawa Police Memorial Cemetery, located at Beechwood Cemetery, followed by a reception.

For those who wish to make a donation in Guy’s memory, you may do so to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or to the Ottawa Police Association Benevolent Fund.



C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Guy André Binet. Cet homme fort, bon, aimant et courageux nous a quittés lundi, le 19 juin, 2017 à Ottawa. Époux bien-aimé de Suzanne Binet (Chartrand). Père aimant de Geneviève (Dawolu Saul), Hélène « Nalini » and Mireille (Mark Miller). Grand-père adoré « Staff » de Tristan, Amélie, Zara et bébé « bouton ». Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs Charles Binet (Micheline), Denise (Bernard Paré), Jean Binet (Stéphanie) et François Binet . Il était le fils de feu Charles-Auguste et Fernande Binet (Campeau) et le frère de feu Paul « Pepsi » Binet et Rolande Binet. Il sera regretté par ses nombreux neveux, nièces, amis proches et collègues.

La famille recevra les condoléances aux Services Funéraires, Cimetière et Crémation Beechwood (280 Avenue Beechwood, Ottawa) mardi, le 27 juin, 2017 de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 18h00 à 20h00. Les funérailles auront lieu mercredi, le 28 juin, 2017 à 11h00 à l’église catholique St-Joseph (2757 Boulevard St-Joseph, Orléans). L’inhumation aura lieu à 12h30 au Cimetière de la Police d’Ottawa, situé au Cimetière Beechwood, et sera suivi d’une réception.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à l’Institut de Cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa ou au Fonds Bienveillant de l’Association de la Police d’Ottawa seraient appréciés. Vous pouvez rédiger votre message de condoléances sur le site www.beechwoodottawa.ca
