In Ottawa, following a stroke, at the age of 92. Ruth (nee Clarke) was married 69 years to the late Vincent Clark (August 30, 2017). Loving mother of Bill (Martha) and Fred (Brenda). Cherished grandmother of Eric (Mandy) and Heather. Great-grandmother of Isla and Lemmy. Survived by her brother Wallace Clarke (Brenda deceased). Predeceased by her parents Carrel and Anna Clarke, and son Gordon. Ruth was active in the church, as choir member, organist, CGIT leader, and secretary. She enjoyed Siamese cats, classical music, cooking, talking with people, and feeding birds and small creatures. Thanks to the staff at Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre and Prince of Wales Manor for their care in her last years. As Ruth wished, there will be no visitation. Memorial Service at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Monday, December 11th, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space. Reception to follow. Private interment in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Baptist Church, 140 Laurier Avenue West, or The Dementia Society (formerly Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County), 1750 Russell Road, would be appreciated. To Bill, Fred and families:

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Ruth’s passing. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will forever cherish the memories we have of Aunt Ruth and Uncle Vince countless trips to Cape Breton. She was a kind soul, dear soul, You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you all dearly. She is in heaven with her dear husband and son. Aunt Ruth, until we meet again Rest in Peace.
