Passed away in Kingston, Ontario on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Grace Cecile (née Sabourin). Loving father of Valerie Searson (Michael), Patrick (Ellen), Stephen (Maria) and Kim Kelly (Shawn). Proud and cherished grandfather to Erin, Brendon, Tim, Heather, Marc, Sarah, George, Colleen, Amelia, Jeremy, Stephanie, Charles and great-grandfather to Dalhia, Levon, Scarlet, Matti, Angus and Cuddy. Predeceased by parents Charles McGibbon and Simone Charland and sister Rita Fushman.

Friends are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa on Tuesday October 17th after 10 a.m. followed by Funeral service in the Sacred Space at 11 a.m. Interment with military honours will be held Wednesday October 18th at the National military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces at 1 p.m.

The world lost a great man this week. A hero to those who knew him. For me, he is my mother’s brother and second father to my own. His sense of optimism and humor if forever imprinted on me. I can and will always hear him telling stories and laughing. Thank you Uncle Roy for the joy you bring to my life.

Roy was a wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.
