I fondly recall stories from my father of his army days and BGen Heitsu was often kindly remembered. I recall meeting him when he visited our home in Ottawa and later as a young Gunner. RIP Sir...

I am so sorry for you and your family for the loss of your father
There is nothing i can say to take away your hurt
I don't have the words to make you feel better,
but you have my shoulder to cry on and the arms to give you a hug
know that i will be here for you when you need me.

We will remember Bob not only as a distinguished Gunner officer but also his service as an Air OP pilot with 1 Air OP Flight and the 4RCHA Troop. He foresaw the need to establish the Canadian Army Aviation website and served it as the Chairman, Editorial Committee . Bob was a staunch supporter of all things related to army aviation and was determined that the history would not disappear. We will miss a great friend and comrade along with his guidance and leadership.
Our sincere condolences go out to Wendy and his family. Pat and Vic Coroy
An officer, a gentleman and a dedicated gunner. RIP
My condolences to the Heitshu family. My parents were longtime friends. His service to the Artillery and Canada was exemplary. Good shooting, End of Mission.
