MacAulay, Robert (Bob) Francis

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 18, 1938. A retired sergeant from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who will be remembered by many as a faithful and thoughtful soul. Bob passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones on January 7, 2017 at the age of 78. Predeceased by his parents Francis (Frank) and Mildred MacAulay and his brother Donald MacAulay. He is survived by his beloved daughters Gail (Charles D’Aoust) and France (Stephany Wilczak), his dear sister Elizabeth (Betty) (late Bill Barron), many loving nieces and nephews as well as Louise Gagnon, his close friend and mother of his daughters.

A memorial service will be held at the Good Shepherd Church, 3092 Innes Road, Ottawa, on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A sincere thank you to Dr. Lauralyn McIntyre and the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for their professional and excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Foundation/Musical Ride would be appreciated.

An outstanding gentleman that was someone to be respected and admired. He lived a full life and made the world a better place, no easy accomplishment. Fortunately his legacy lives on through his love of his family. God bless him.

To Bob's family - sorry to read his obituary in the Halifax Chronicle Herald. Being a fellow Nova Scotian, I have fond memories of our training days with Bob and orther troop mates, another , Eugene Lewis, who passed away in Oshawa recently.
