Rita's bright smile and warm personality have brightened our morning exercise classes at the RA for many years. She has shown amazing courage during this past difficult year and she will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends -- and, of course, by the family she loved so much, as they loved her.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mother.
Her visits (to the office) were always a great opportunity to enjoy a conversation and find out how all the family were doing.

How could so many outstanding qualities be combined in one woman? Talented, kind, intelligent, loving and caring, energetic, enthusiastic, patient - Ria was an outstanding woman that I will miss so very much even though the miles divided us. Since the time Tom and Rita came sailing with me some 20 years ago, we have kept in close touch, Rita always wrote wonderful long recounts of what they and the family were doing. Rita and Tom left to this the world with talented good offspring, and they contributed in so many ways to creating quality of life wherever they were and in whatever they did. Rita and Tom were two very special people, I miss them. I carry them in my heart.

My wife Sue and I were lucky enough to meet Rita, once in 1988 and more recently at Tom and Rita's golden wedding anniversary, and again at Aunt Betty's 92nd birthday celebration. She was a kind and generous person and will be sorely missed.
