July 13, 1949 - December 14, 2017

Rick passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home in Dunrobin on Thursday December 14th, 2017, in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Sharon (Butler). Cherished father of April (Kevin Coker), Darryl (Brittiney Staples), and Crystal (Tyler Hawkins). Loving Pappy to Addison, Isaac, Weston, Tenley and Lillian. Rick will be sadly missed by his loving sisters Margaret (Gerry Young), Phyllis (the late Earl Allen), Carol (Bud-Ernie Tyres) and best friend/brother Raymond Jr. (Darlene Larocque). Youngest son of the late Raymond and Lillian LaBonte.

As the owner of Rick’s Quality Painting and Contracting, Rick was proud to have received the award for Best Small Business painting in the Ottawa Carleton area for three consecutive years.

Services to be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Wednesday December 20th, 2017, with visitation from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00pm, followed by a champagne toast and Reception in celebration of Rick's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CHEO Foundation.

It was with deep sadness that I heard of Ricky's passing. Growing up on Lakeview Drive, I knew him as a shy and gentle young man and imagine him the same as an adult.
