It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the gentle passing of Rhys Crawford Chubb, September 22, 1994 – June 23, 2018. Rhys was surrounded by loving family and friends as he experienced a short illness. Rhys' life was shared by his 3 brothers, Awstin, Blake, Bryn, and his parents, Robert and Patty. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles: Valerie, Cathy (Mitch), Janet (Chris), Marie (Ian), Reg (Marie-Christine), Lynette, Andrew (Karen), David, Nigel (Aneesa), Lindsay (Jenn). He shared fun and games with his myriad cousins: Claire, Maddie, Shona, Caity, Jesse, Laura, Elizabeth, Félix, Anouk, James, Harly, Kyle, Brianna, Zaakirah, Ayesha, Sam, Ava, and Shaefer; as well as with many more extended family and friends.

Rhys' unique ability to experience life with unmeasured joy and infectious laughter touched many people in many ways. Whether dancing to Bruce Springsteen, playing piano with grandma, or singing with unbridled enthusiasm, Rhys left his mark on all he met.

Over the years, Rhys enjoyed the help of countless support workers at home, and at school. Special thanks to Vivian, Trisha, Donna, Shannon, Holly, and Cassie. A special thanks to Dr. Chris who stayed with us through the to the end. The staff and volunteers at Roger Neilson House, Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre, Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, and CHEO greatly enhanced Rhys' life. We thank you all!

Friends and Family are invited to visit at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm Wednesday, June 27.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood on Thursday, June 28, at 11 o’clock with interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Roger Neilson House or the Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education would be greatly appreciated.
