In Celebration of

Renée Fairweather

January 10, 1963 -  May 14, 2016

Fairweather, Renée
(nee Dubois)

Peacefully at home on May 14, 2016 in her 54th year. Beloved wife of David Fairweather and proud, adoring mother of Alexandra. She was the loving daughter of Real Dubois and Patricia Dewar, and will be sadly missed by her brother Ritchie, father-in-law and mother-in-law Alex (Betty) sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debbie (Todd), nephew and nieces Danny (Crystal), Briena (Jessica), Brooke, her Sistahs and The Dinner Club.

Born in Rouyn-Noranda, childhood spent in Pointe-Claire and adulthood in Ottawa. Renée experienced a life full of adventure and was always seeking new challenges. Renée volunteered with Brownies and was President of the Canterbury Community Association.

Renée had an exciting and successful career. Her career began at Gowling and Henderson when she first arrived to Ottawa. She then dove head first into the political world and spent many memorable years working for the Conservative, Reform and Canadian Alliance Party of Canada. Then CATSA, City of Ottawa and finishing her career at CRTC as Director General of Strategic Communications.

Renée had an impact on everyone’s life that she touched. Her incredible strength, kind heart and joie de vivre were and continue to be an inspiration to us all. She is our Superhero.

Heartfelt appreciation to Drs. Kalin, Young, Goel, Genest, and Chang, the CTU unit and 5 East, CCAC nurse Cathy and Dr. Louise Coulombe who’s home visits allowed Renée to remain in the comfort of her home with family and close friends.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Wednesday, May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

We are extremely sad to hear of Renee's passing. We came to know her over the last 5-6 years and whenever we met she was most warm and welcoming. Always smiling and enjoying life, it was joyful to be in her presence. To David and Alexandra and all Renee's family, we extend our heartfelt sympathy.

You are my hero! Love you mon amie Renée. xox
