January 17, 1922 - January 22, 2018

Passed away peacefully at the West End Villa in Ottawa, on Monday, January 22, 2018; age 96 years. Beloved wife for 67 years of the late Capt. Walter John Wood CD2 (RCEME ret’d). Loving mother of John Robert Wood (Dagmar), Marilynn Enid Isaac (Robert) and James Paul Wood (JoAnne). Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Christopher (Carrie), Matthew and Emily. Proud great-grandmother of Harrison, Molly and Logan. Phyllis is survived by sister Dorothy Heinze of Nova Scotia. Daughter of the late Chesley Rainsford Tait and the late Edith Kathleen Tait (nee Harrison).

The family will receive friends at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 for a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery, where she will be next to her beloved husband. For those who wish to donate in memory of Phyllis you may do so towards a Charity of your choice.

Dear Lisa
After meeting your grandmother on a number of occasions, it was impressive to see how spry she was for a woman of her years and the kind heart she had. It seemed to me that she was more than just a Grandmother but also your friend. I know that you were there for her as she would have been there for you.

Although the coming days may be difficult at times, I hope it won’t be long before you can look back lovingly at all the times you shared together, both as family and as friends, and can smile at those blessings.

God bless to you and Harrison and my sympathies to your family.
