Nancy was always so generous in keeping in touch with me and I will miss her long, hand-written, chatty yearly letters. She was a friend of my mother who grew up in Halifax - Bubbles Weatherbe (who became Bubbles Campbell when she married). My mother died when I was 15 and so I treasured people, like Nancy, who had known my mother and who could fill in some of the missing information about my mother's life. I feel as though a significant chapter of my life has now closed with Nancy's death...but I am so grateful that the novel of her life, and what she offered me, was as long as it was.
