CLASSEN, Melita Victoria (née Hensen) BA, ATCM
Passed away peacefully November 28, 2017 at age 89. Beloved wife of 67 years of Alexander, loving mother of Vickie (Ken) and Lita (Allan). Awesome Nana of Greg (Nicki), Tiana (Bill), Connor, Jeffrey and Great Grandma of Chase and Charlie. Melita was a lover of life, the arts, women’s education and underprivileged children. She was a respected school music teacher, piano and voice teacher, pianist, organist and choir conductor. She was actively involved in CFUW, RCM Alumni, ORMTA, and Save the Children Canada. Her infectious laugh, sociability, and storytelling will be missed by all. Sincere thanks to all the staff at Forest Hill for their loving kindness and comfort. Friends are invited to visit Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave Monday December 4 after 1 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. followed by interment and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Save the Children Canada (www.savethechildren.ca)
