Marina LaFontaine

December 14, 1934 -  February 21, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Marina LaFontaine announce her passing unexpectedly on February 21, 2018 at age 83. Marina lived a full and wonderful life as mother, sister, friend, business owner and world traveler.
Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) 1930 to 2017. Marina is lovingly remembered by her devoted children Michael, Renee (Marston), Glen (deceased), Todd, Karen (Finch) and Suzie, her 14 grandchildren Glenn, Morgan (Marston), Cameron, William (Marston), Kendra (Halman), Nicholas (Marston), Jordan (Halman), Luca, Skylar, Riley (Finch), Dante, Mackenzie (Finch), Gianni and Dylan (Finch), brothers Victor, James, Andrew, Brian (deceased) and Neil and sisters Leona (Langille), Marjorie, Margaret (Kruger) and Mona (MacInnis). Many thanks to the doctors and nurses and staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their professionalism.

The family will receive friends at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Beechwoood’s Sacred Space at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Heart Institute at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

It is with indescribable sadness that I have heard of your loss. The memories of the beautiful Marina with her inexhaustible energy and appetite for life are still so vivid in my mind. Her laughs and glowing self will never be forgotten.

I am so sad to have to say goodbye to my wonderful Aunt. She was such a beautiful soul! I enjoyed many wonderful times with her playing cards, skiing, and at the cottage on PEI. I will miss you! All my love to the Lanfontaine family.
