In Celebration of

Marcel Boucher

November 21, 1959 -  November 7, 2016

BOUCHER, Marcel
Pte. (Retired) Royal New Brunswick Regiment
Suddenly on November 7, 2016 at the age of 56. Will be dearly remembered by many friends and his neighbors from Beaver Barracks, his friends at Taggart YMCA, the UN-NATO Veterans’ Association, the Perley, and all the pups who walked through the Museum of Nature park. Friends are invited to gather on Friday November 18, 2016 at the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) after 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces (Section 27) at 3 p.m. followed by a reception. For those unable to attend, a Celebration of Marcel’s Life will also be held on Sunday November 20th at 464 Metcalfe Street from 2 to 4 p.m. Many thanks to Veteran's Affairs, The Last Post Fund, Beechwood Funeral Services and Cemetery Staff, and CCOC for all your help. Special thanks to the public, including those who supported the fundraiser we were able to cancel. We have honoured our offer to refund donors upon request and will be donating all that is left to the Montgomery Legion who, we have come to realize, helped Marcel when he most needed it, while he was alive. It takes a village to care for each other. What a village Canada is. In memoriam donations to the Last Post Fund will be appreciated. www.lastpost.ca

Marcel, was a regular attendee at our monthly gatherings of The Ottawa Branch of The Royal Canadian Regiment Association. His passing is a great shock to us, especially among our Korean War veterans, with whom Marcel always shared a table, a beer and a few stories. While we are saddened by his loss and will miss his warm companionship, we are thankful for the good cheer Marcel always brought among us, and for which he will be remembered.

Pro Patria, Marcel, and may God keep you!
