Madeleine Riordan

December 15, 1931 -  December 21, 2016

Madeleine Riordan (née Pagé) passed away in Kanata, on December 21, 2016, age 85, daughter of the late Gaston and the late Marie-Reine (Rivet) Pagé. Beloved wife of James for 53 years and cherished mother of Carol (Jean Harvey) and Brian (Sue Antosik). Proud grandmother of Maxime, Félix and Jacob. She was predeceased by her siblings Aimé, Jean-Paul and Louise. Survived by her sisters-in-law Dolores Charbonneau and Mariette Desmarchais as well as her brothers-in-law André Fournier and Edward Riordan (the late Theresa Leger). Madeleine will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata, ON. The family will receive condolences after mass during a reception in the parish hall. Interment will take place later in the spring at the Beechwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Canada.

C’est avec tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès de Madeleine Riordan (née Pagé) décédée à Kanata, le 21 décembre 2016 à l'âge de 85 ans. Épouse bien-aimée de James pendant 53 ans. Chère mère de Carol (Jean Harvey) et Brian (Sue Antosik). Grand-maman affectionnée de Maxime, Félix et Jacob. Elle fut à l’emploi de Transport Canada, a œuvré comme membre de la Fédération des femmes canadiennes françaises et à titre de présidente du Centre culturel francophone de l'Okanagan. On se souviendra toujours de sa bonté de cœur et de sa tendresse. Les funérailles en présence des cendres auront lieu, jeudi, le 12 janvier 2017 à 11:00 à l'église Holly Redeemer, 44 promenade Rothesay, à Kanata ON. La famille recevra les condoléances après la messe lors d'une réception à la salle paroissiale. Vos marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à Parkinson Canada.

Madeleine was a beautiful human being: Gentle, positive and kind. She also struck me as being incredibly strong and resilient. I enjoyed our talks whenever we met. A tremendous loss. My heart and thoughts go out to Jim and everyone touched by her loss.
