Kati Houldsworth
July 13, 1987 - April 12, 2014
Houldsworth, Kati Marie
Kati left us suddenly on April 12, 2014 at the age of 26. Kati was born on July 13, 1987 in Ottawa, Ontario. She attended Henry Larson Public School and Sir Wilfred Laurier High School, and graduated Algonquin College with a diploma in early childhood education.
Beloved daughter of Valerie and Gary, and big sister Kara. She also leaves behind a grieving Obaa and Ogii, Carmen and John Houldsworth, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her a great deal.
Kati was a beautiful young woman full of life and energy. She had a kind, giving, fun-loving heart. She loved life, her family and friends. At the centre of her world were her two “babies”—her pugs, Tyson and Yoda. The Kati we will all remember was always beautifully put together with perfect hair, make-up, nails and clothing no matter what the occasion. Kati also had enormous drive and determination especially in the face of any of life’s challenges.
The family sincerely thanks the ambulance attendants and medical staff of the Montfort Hospital ICU for the extraordinary efforts made to try to save Kati’s life. A special thank you to Nurse Michelle Johnstone for her deep kindness and compassion.
Donations in Kati’s memory can be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
“Missing someone isn’t about how long it has been since you’ve seen them or the amount of time since you’ve talked. It’s about that very moment when you’re doing something and wishing they were right there with you.’ Anonymous
Kati—we will always miss you and love you.
