In Celebration of

Joseph Jerome Condon

October 23, 1931 -  June 13, 2017

Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on June 13, 2017, at the age of 85 after a short illness. Born October 23, 1931, in Georgetown, PEI. Son of the late Helen Condon and the late James Condon of Georgetown, PEI.
Beloved husband of Freda, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December 2016. Joseph will be greatly missed by his four daughters Judy (Javier), Maggie (Colin), Joe Ann (Bruce), and Kate (Janice). Fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Grace Hewton, Avery Hodgins and Breanna Hodgins. Also survived by his brother James Jeffery of North Bay, Ontario. Will be missed by close childhood friend Cullen (Cully) DeLory of Halifax, NS.
Joseph obtained a Teacher’s Diploma from Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown and went on to enjoy a widely varied career as a teacher, government bureaucrat, and lastly, as the Property Manager for Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC), a position he held for 15 years.
After his retirement from CADC in 1997, Joseph along with his wife Freda ran the PEI Sweater Shop for 20 years in Oyster Bed Bridge, PEI. After closing the PEI Sweater Shop, Joe and Freda “retired” again and moved to Ottawa, Ontario, full time to be close to their four daughters and three grandchildren. Joe spent his later days happily following both the Ottawa Senators (hockey) and the Ottawa political scene.
Condolences can be sent to 3369 Chilliwack Way, Ottawa, Ontario. Donations are respectfully declined.
