Jocelyn "Josh" Lachapelle

Chief Warrant Officer Josh Lachapelle was born in Longueuil, Quebec and joined the Canadian Forces as a Navel Electronics Sensor Operator, on the 11 January 1984 in Montreal, Quebec. After completing his QL3 training, he was assigned on the HMCS Iroquois. In 1987, he left the CF in order to go to work as a cabinetmaker. In January 1988, he joined the CF for a second time, but this time as a Water Fuel and Environment Technician. After completion of his QL3, he was initially transferred to CFB Comox, British Columbia.

In 1991, he was transferred to CFB Valcartier, at the 5e Régiment du génie de combat (5RGC). In 1992, he deployed to Cambodia. In 1993, he was promoted to MCpl and was transferred to Base CE were her worked at the wastewater treatment plant. In 1996, when the construction troops were formed, he was once again transferred back to 5RGC. That year was also marked with a deployment in Bosnia and Hercegovina.

Promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997, he was transferred to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment Petawawa Construction Troop. During that time, he deployed twice with the DART; in 1998 in Honduras and in 1999 in Turkey. In 2000, he was promoted to Warrant Officer and was transferred to Base CE where he worked in the Contract section.

In March 2001, he was transferred to 1 Engineer Support Unit (1 ESU) Moncton. In December 2001, he deployed in the Persian Gulf for the construction of the Camp Mirage. In 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer and was employed as the 3 Specialized Engineering Team MWO (3 SET MWO). During that time the SET preformed numerous projects in Cuba, Alert and many more locations. In 2005 he was transferred to ADM (MAT) in position of LCMM for Water Distribution, Wastewater, Laundry and Fuel Equipment for the Relocatable Temporary Camp Equipment.

Chief Warrant Officer Lachapelle was promoted to his present rank in July 2006. As a Chief Warrant Officer, he has been employed with ADM (IE), RSM of 1 Engineer Support Unit, and Career Manager for the Construction Engineer occupation and CANOSCOM as Operational Support Engineer Group Chief Warrant Officer.

After 26 Years of service CWO Lachapelle, has accepted a civilian position within OS Engr Gp as the Eng Equipment Manager.

Adjudant-chef Jocelyn Lachapelle a joint les forces canadiennes le 11 janvier 1984 en tant qu’opérateur de détecteurs électroniques de marine. Après avoir complété son cours NQ 3, il a été transféré sur le NCSM Iroquois. En 1987, il quitta les FC pour aller travailler comme ébéniste à Montréal. En 1988, il s’enrôla de nouveau dans les FC, mais cette fois en tant que technicien en Eau, Pétrole et Environnement. Après avoir complété son NQ 3, il a été transféré à la BFC Comox. En 1989, il déploya au Golan.
En 1991, il a été transféré au 5e Régiment du génie de combat à Valcartier. En 1992, il déploya au Cambodge. En 1993, il a été promu au rang de Cplc et a été transféré au génie construction de la base et travailla à l’usine d’épuration des eaux. En 1996, lors de la création des troupes de Construction, il a été de nouveau transféré au 5 RGC. Cette année-là, a aussi été marquée par un déploiement en Bosnie.

Promue au rang de sergent, en 1997, il a été transféré à la troupe de construction au 2 CER. Durant ce temps, il déploya deux fois avec le EICC; en 1998 au Honduras et en 1999 en Turquie. En 2000, il a été promu au rang d’adjudant et été transféré à la Base, à la section des contrats.

En mars 2001, il a été transféré à la 1ière UAG à Moncton. En décembre 2001, il a déployé pour la construction du camp Mirage. En 2003, il a été promu au rang d’adjudant-maitre et était employé comme l’adjudant-maitre de la 3e équipe spécialisée du génie (ESG). Pendant ce temps, l’ESG a complété beaucoup de projets, Cuba, Alert, et plusieurs autres endroits. En 2005, il a été transféré à SMA (Mat) en tant que gestionnaire du cycle de vie du matériel.

l’adjudant-chef Lachapelle a été promu à son rang en juillet 2006. En tant qu’adjudant-chef, il a été employé avec ADM IE, 1 UAG, gérant de carrière pour le génie de construction et avec COMSOCAN en tant qu’adjudant-chef du Groupe Génie Soutien Opérationnel.

Après plus de 26 ans de service, Adjuc Lachapelle a accepté une position civile comme Gérant de l’équipement du Groupe Génie Soutien Opérationnel.
