In Celebration of

Johannes Ter Beek

September 5, 1941 -  June 8, 2018

Peacefully at home, Hans passed away surrounded by his family. Dearly beloved husband of Lia ter Beek and loving father to Robert and Nicole (Erik). Adored opa to Isabella, Sofia, and Thea. Brother of Antoinette Burkhardt (Hermann) of Germany and Elly Aretz (Joop) of the Netherlands. Hans was predeceased by his parents Antonia van den Belt and Josephus ter Beek and his sister Ria Bakermans (Sjef). Hans was born in Den Bosch, the Netherlands and came to Ottawa in 1965 where he began work in the steel trade as an Engineer. Over the next 50 years, he became well-known and respected as a business owner and consultant in the construction industry. What brought true joy to his heart was being with his family, especially his grandchildren and spending time at the cottage where he could tinker to his heart’s content. With heartfelt thanks to all from whom he received support and care.

Friends and Family are invited to visit at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa from 5-7pm, Tuesday, June 12.

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa, Wednesday, June 13 at 11 o’clock.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada.

With all my love- I will forever remember weekend visits, words of advice and support and opening the Ter Beek house and heart to a girl from "the west".

I have been thinking of you all these past months and am wishing you all the love and attempts at comfort over the next few days, and weeks and months.

Rest peacefully Hans.
Love Michelle

Tante Lia, Nicole & Rob,

My oldest memories seem to include uncle Hans in one way or the other. I remember him staying (or at least hanging out) at our home on Tremblay road. I remember the holidays on the Cadoruca I and II, and I remember the many dinners together on Kender and Dutton. Those are good memories and I will always treasure them!

Later on of course I got to know and respect him for his professional talents. But those memories from way back will always live the strongest in my heart.

I wish you all of my best,

Rudy

My thoughts ann prayers are with you.
