Jean Joseph Gagné, B.A., M.Éd. (1938 - 2017) est décédé paisiblement au
Centre palliatif Élisabeth Bruyère à Ottawa, le 14 juin 2017 entouré de
l’amour des siens.

Veuf de Margo Gagné, il laisse dans le deuil sa conjointe Mado Boyer, ses
enfants Natalie Gagné (Bill Muscroft), Patrick Gagné (Debbie Gibeault),
Marylène Gagné (Michel Plante) et ses petits-enfants qu’il adorait: Jacob,
Camille, Philippe, Miguel et Gabrielle. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil sa
mère Lucienne Gagné, ses soeurs Alberte Campbell (Ross), Hélène Johnston (Norm), Anna McNay (Lorne), Lucie Smith (Duncan) et son frère adoptif Michel Brunet (Delphine Brunet). Il fut précédé dans la mort par son père, Albert Gagné et son frère Denis Gagné. Jean a été très proche de nombreux neveux,
nièces, cousins et cousines. Homme d’une grande humanité, il a toujours
démontré une grande disponibilité pour supporter sa famille élargie, ses
proches et sa communauté.

Jean a dévoué sa carrière à sa vocation, l’enseignement et l’éducation. Il
a été un enseignant engagé auprès des jeunes à l’école secondaire de Hearst
de 1961 à 1995. De plus, il a agit à titre de Président du conseil scolaire
des écoles catholiques séparées de Hearst et de Président du bureau des
gouverneurs de l’Université de Hearst. C'est avec grande fierté qu'il a
reçu l’honneur de la lettre “H” pour sa contribution exceptionnelle à
l’éducation dans sa communauté.

Parents et amis sont invités aux Services Funéraires, cimetières et crémation Beechwood, 280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa, mardi 20 juin 2017 de 18h à 21h et mercredi 21 juin 2017 à compter de 9h30 suivi d’une célébration de la vie en l’Espace Sacré à 11h.

Jean Joseph Gagné, B.A., M.Ed (1938-2017) passed away peacefully at the
Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital on June 14, 2017 surrounded by the love of his
family.

Widower of Margo Gagné, he leaves behind his partner Mado Boyer, his children
Natalie Gagné (Bill Muscroft), Patrick Gagné (Debbie Gibeault) and Marylène
Gagné (Michel Plante) and his beloved grand children: Jacob, Camille,
Philippe, Miguel and Gabrielle. He also leaves behind his mother Lucienne
Gagné and his sisters, Alberte Campbell (Ross), Hélène Johnson (Norm), Anna McNay (Lorne) and Lucie Smith (Duncan) and his adopted brother Michel Brunet (Delphine Brunet). He is preceded in death by his father Albert Gagné and his brother Denis Gagné. Jean was very close to many nephews, nieces and
cousins. Deeply caring, he was always accessible and supportive towards his
extended family, friends and community.

Jean devoted his career to his true vocation, teaching and education. He
was an engaged student focus teacher from 1961 to 1995 at the Hearst High
School, where he worked his entire career. He was also President of the
Conseil des écoles catholiques séparées de Hearst and President of the
Board of Governors of l'Université de Hearst. It's with great pride that
he was awarded the letter “H” for his exceptional contribution to education
in his community.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway), on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the celebration of his life in the Sacred Space at 11 a.m.at the Beechwood
