Passed peacefully on January 9,2017, at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, surrounded by family and friends. Beloved son of Elva and the late Fred Thomas. Loving husband of Adele and cherished father of Brent (Maggie), Heather and Tim. He was much loved by many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws. The family would like to sincerely thank the Nurses and Doctors of 7 East at the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus for the compassionate care provided. Friends are invited to visit the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. (East of Vanier Parkway) Sunday January 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday January 16 after 1 p.m. Memorial Service will be held Monday in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the Ottawa Police Association, 141 Catherine Street. In memoriam donations may be made to Soldier On (www.soldieron.ca) or the Charity of your choice.

Ray was my supervisor in Traffic Section(motorcycles).. he used to laugh so hard when we shared jokes his whole body shook and he would have to stand up to gain his composure..a funny,warm gentleman..It was a privilege to work with him..My thoughts and condolences to his Family and Friends..

I didnt know Ray for long but in the short time i knew him before he retired I found him to be a fine gentleman he was witty and made me laugh....he took over the room at Abbey Hill with his presence alone.....great man and will be sorely missed.
