In Celebration of

Irene Mills

September 11, 1934 -  February 2, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Wanda Mills (nee Froelich) on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the age of 82. Irene is survived by her beloved husband Karl, children Katharine (Nick Cumming), Stephen, Elisabeth (Paul Williams) and Peter, and brothers Theodore (Margarete) and Heinrich (Maaike). She was a loving Oma to her grandchildren Joshua, Jakob and Mark.

Irene was a voracious reader, an avid games player and a lover of the Canadian wilderness. Her strong spirit and inexhaustible hope will be greatly missed. Thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital Riverside Campus Dialysis Unit for their care of Irene.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre in Ottawa from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017. A service will follow at 11 a.m. Donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Wildlife Federation would be appreciated.
