I only knew Howard since September 2015 but I will remember him as a great guy with a big heart! It was such a delight to have him in my grad course. Howard shared his valuable insights and experience in software development with the rest of the class. He was funny yet polite and respectful to the opinions of others. Howard was always willing and ready to help others! I was deeply saddened by the news. My sincere condolences to Howard's family, children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed!

I am devastated. I have lost the one person with whom I shared a research dream that HE could make reality. I have lost a friend and an accomplice, someone who shared the same wicked sense of humour and offered extraordinary generosity.
I never met his family. My thoughts go to them who knew him a lot more than I did.

I only knew Scott briefly, but felt instantly accepted and welcomed by him, a fact I deeply appreciated. He'll be missed by Carleton University, and by me. Rest in peace, Scott.

I will truly miss seeing him around the School. He was so friendly with everyone. He was a great student in my graduate class, always involved in discussion, providing insightful comments, and injecting humour into the conversations, and helping his classmates.
Most sincere sympathies to his family and friends.
