Passed away in Ottawa at the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre on Thursday November 30, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved soulmate of 36 years, and husband to Linda (née Williams). Dear father to Jeffrey, Eric and stepfather to Brian McKinlay. Cherished grandfather to Douglas and Susan.
Fond brother to Ron (Corleen), Roy (Lillian), Catherine and Ian. Predeceased by his brother Alex (Helen). Will be dearly remembered by the Williams Family and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Perley & Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, staff and volunteers for their kindness and care provided.
Friends are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwod Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) on Tuesday December 12th after 10 a.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Sacred Space at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Presence at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces at 12 noon followed by a reception.

Our sincerest condolences to Linda and family. We are really going to miss seeing Gerry's smiling face whenever we come to Ottawa. We will always remember what a great human being he was. Not only was Gerry a great neighbour to our parents, but a great friend.

I miss not seeing you Gerry at the house when I visit Linda. You always knew what to say and when, in a positive, kind way while giving your full attention. I will miss your gentle presence, your encouragement with my painting and wonderful meals. Have courage and strength, Linda. Gerry is fondly remembered and loved in many hearts.

his Korean War participation is indicative of his loyalty and love for his country.
