George Redling

Peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in his 94th year. George Redling, Beloved husband and best friend of Magdalen (nee Hokhold). Loving father of George (Carole) and Stephen (Roxane). Cherished 'NagyPapa' to his grandchildren George, Jessica (Olivier), Gregory, Matthew (Robyn) and Jeremy (Lisa) and dear great grandson George Jaiden. Predeceased by his brother John and sister Maria. A memorial service will be held in the Sacred Space at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to visit from 1:30 p.m. The family would like to thank the Administration and Staff of the Chapel Hill Retirement Residence for their excellent and professional care, especially Dr. Guindon and Amber and Marivic. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.

Mr Redling played a very important part of my life. As my gym teacher in the 70's, he though me the importance of discipline and respect which I have passed on to my children today. His military experience and stories and specifically his wound on his arm made me dream of serving and led me to join the Canadian Forces where I am still serving today. I often wondered where he was and told myself that I should go visit him...Regretfully, I never did. He never knew it and I was to young to understand but Mr. Redling made me the man I am today .

Deepest regrets at your loss. We were privileged to meet George at Jessica and Olivier's wedding last summer. It is always a sad moment when the patriarch of the family passes away, and we are sorry that we cannot be with you to share in honoring his memory.
