Suddenly, at the general Hospital on Monday November 7, Frank passed away the age of 69. He is survived by his beloved spouse Bryan Wannop and is profoundly missed by Bryan’s sister Gloria’s family in Alberta and California, Frank’s Sister Jeannette, his brother Leo and their families in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and his predeceased brother Lucien’s family in Quebec.
Born in Rouyn-Noranda Quebec, Frank had an extensive career in education at several levels in both Quebec and Ontario as well as a wonderful year in Norwich, England on a Commonwealth Teacher Exchange Programme. Frank then undertook series of theological studies leading to his ordination on May 8, 2013 as a non-denominational minister enabling him over the past three years to be delighted in officiating at a number of marriages.
In May, Frank and Bryan celebrated 40 exciting years together. They loved to travel and in addition to travelling in Europe by both land and river they spent several winters in their favorite North American destination of Palm Springs, California with visiting family and friends as well as many family reunions in Hawaii sponsored by the family. For the past two years they thoroughly enjoyed their retirement living at the Rockliffe Retirement Residence in Ottawa where Frank will be deeply missed by his many Friends there.
Funeral Service was held on November 22, 2016 at the Rockliffe Retirement Residence.
Family and friends are invited at a celebration of Frank’s Life, Wednesday May 24th, 2017 on what would have been Frank’s 70th birthday, in the Sacred Space of Beechwood Cemetery, Funeral and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) at 1 p.m. followed by interment of urn in Beechwood's Botanical Gardens.
