In Celebration of

Erma Grandmaison

July 10, 1941 -  January 26, 2018

Grandmaison, Erma Jean (Hardy) passed away peacefully January 26, 2018 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of Robert, mother to Danielle and husband Paul, David and wife Kim, and Peter and wife Rachelle. Loving grandmother to Cassandra and wife Jessica, William, Julia, Leo and Finn. Erma will be greatly missed by her siblings, Eric and wife Sandra, Lois and her husband Wayne (deceased) and Paul and wife Donna. Beloved sister-in-law to Delaine, Liette and Jim, Adele and Brian, Claudette and Bob, Fred and Linda and Richard. Predeceased by her parents Leslie and Dorothy Hardy of Elmsdale, PEI. Erma was a proud graduate of Prince County Hospital’s nursing class of 1962. Robert’s career with the Royal Canadian Air Force provided the opportunity to live in many parts of Canada and the United States, and they made life-long friends wherever they went. As a nurse, Erma spent her life helping others and upon her retirement she continued to help from home, quilting and crocheting many projects for countless charities. Erma was an inspiration to us all for her kindness, and optimism in face of over 25 years of living with a chronic illness. We will miss her deeply. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 12 at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) at 1pm followed by a Reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of choice would be appreciated.

Ermas photographic memory, dry sense of humour , true friend, positive attitude and the way she faced her chronic illness was an example for all .She was proud to be a nurse. She was one of my bridesmaids . I valued her friendship.

Erma was such a wonderful friend. I so admired her for her positive attitude always. She never complained while enduring a long struggle with her health. She will be missed so much by all of our class of 1962. Robert, thank you so much for taking such good care of Erma. You and your loved ones will miss her so much. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
