Passed away in hospital on Monday May 4, 2015 at the age of 82. Son of the late Nellie and Joseph Zwicker of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, he is survived by his wife Lucille, daughters Paula Klante (Peter) and Isabelle(Carla) Morgan, also one sister Roberta Barss (Morris), Halifax, N.S. as well as several nieces and nephews. Elmer worked three years in the Bank of Montreal in Nova Scotia followed by a 35 year career in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police serving in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ottawa, Ontario .He graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1962. Following retirement in 1987 Elmer and Lucille took up golf and spent most winters in Florida. In addition to golf, his favorite pass time was playing bridge and following the efforts of the Ottawa Senator’s Hockey Team. Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, (East of Vanier Parkway), Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Sacred Space at 11 a.m. Interment in the RCMP Memorial Cemetery at Beechwood. In lieu of flowers donations to support the RCMP Memorial Cemetery can be made directly to the Beechwood Cemetery Foundation, a registered Canadian charity. Tributes may be sent via Lifetimes at www.beechwoodottawa.ca
