Elizabeth Louise (Betty) Maloney (nee Howatt)

June 29, 1929 -  May 1, 2018

Peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on May 1. Born in Charlottetown, PE in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen and Harold Howatt. She was predeceased by her husbands James Howard (Jim) Maloney (2015) and Ira Stewart Banks (1953) and her brother John Reginald (Jack) Howatt of Ottawa. Survived by her sisters-in-law, Verna and Freda Banks and brother-in-law Don Wand. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Rick (Nadia), Stewart (Brenda), Patricia, Barbara (Mark), Shelagh, and Brennan. She was a special Babi to fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, on Monday, May 7 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. Messages of Condolence may be left at www.beechwoodottawa.ca

I've always loved Babi, dearly. I knew summer arrived when her and Grandad drove into the cottage and always considered them both like other grandparents of mine, especially after my Grandy passed. She was always quiet and happy, much like her cousin, my Grandy. I'll miss seeing her as I run down the dirt road to the beach while she smiled from the happy hour porch.
