GREEN, Dorothy Jean “Dodee” (nee Cockburn)
Passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017 after 101 wonderful years. Born in Ottawa on May 5, 1916 to the late Arthur and Charlotte Cockburn. She was a loving wife to the late H. Clarke Green (G.T. Green Ltd.) and predeceased by her deeply missed son Garth Green (Kathie). Dodee is survived by her devoted daughter Susan McPherson (late Rod) and daughter-in-law Kathie Green. Cherished Nana to Christine, Kirsten and Cara and wonderful Big-Nana to Lily and Sydney. She will be missed dearly by nieces Cindy and Sandra and nephew Scott as well as many family and friends with whom she maintained supportive and loving relationships until the end. She spent her summers in her beloved Tenaga, Quebec and her winters as a “snow-bird” in Florida. A remarkable woman who was widely known for her independent spirit and her love of family, entertaining, children, golf and travel. Hers was a life well-lived. Friends and family are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway) on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10:30 a.m with the family prior to the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
